My updating this blog in a timely fashion seems to have gone the way of 98 º circa 2000… which is to say it was hot for a little while (with the release of “Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche)”) but everything began to go downhill with the sophomore album, etc.
This will certainly be my last blog entry from Buenos Aires as I am leaving in a little over six hours. In the meantime, I have to finish packing, get myself to the airport and say a proper goodbye to the city where I’ve spent the last four months.
It was surreal coming here and it’s surreal to leave. Just as, back in August, I couldn’t believe that I’d be spending such a long time in a foreign country, I can’t believe now that I’m going to go back to the U.S. and just continue my life like none of this ever happened. I’d like to think that this semester changed me (for the best), but it’s hard to evaluate now when I have one foot in Plaza San Martín and the other in my family room watching “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.
I’ll do at least one more entry when I’m back in Philly and have more time to reflect on What My Semester Abroad Meant To Me and other capital-letter questions like that. Until then: chau Buenos Aires, nos vemos cuando nos veamos!
